Out of over 70 submitting ensembles, the Ridgeview Honor Band was selected as 1 of the 10 middle school ensembles invited to the 2026 National Concert Band Festival. This is an incredibly high honor that is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for a program to perform on a national stage.
They will be traveling to Indianapolis, Indiana, at the end of March to take part in the event held at Butler University.
This honors not only our students and staff at Ridgeview, but also the community that supports our band program at RMS. Let's go, Panther Honor Band!

District would like all of our bus riders to please note the following:
SMART tag
Due to the increased number of SMART tag requests at the beginning of the school year, please expect longer processing times for the first couple weeks. Beginning Monday, September 1st students will be required to have a SMART tag OR a Round Rock ISD Transportation One-Day SMART tag Permit in order to ride the bus home. As a reminder, students may only ride their assigned bus to and from their assigned stop.
OVERCROWDING
At the beginning of every school year we expect and experience overcrowding on bus routes. The majority of overcrowding resolves within the first two weeks of school without any changes to transportation. Through September 1st, overcrowding will be addressed by shuttling. This means that if a bus does not have room for all assigned students, the bus will load to capacity and take those students home before returning to the campus for the remaining students. We will be monitoring the ridership to address any overcrowding that does not resolve by September 1st.
AIR CONDITIONING ON THE SCHOOL BUS
All Round Rock ISD school buses are equipped with air conditioning units located in both the front and back of the bus. However, it’s important to note that while the buses are air-conditioned, they are large vehicles with minimal insulation and carry many passengers. On extremely hot days, the air conditioning may only be able to cool the inside of the bus by about 15 to 20 degrees below the outside temperature.
If you have questions about your student's transportation through the RRISD school bus system, please visit the website linked here or contact the Transportation East Facility at 512.428.2491.

Panther Camp 2025 welcomed our incoming 6th grade class here at Ridgeview with a celebration in true Panther style! We are so excited to start the school year with all of our students, and this morning was particularly special as we had the opportunity to meet some of our newest faces on campus.
Special thanks to the event coordinator and RMS math teacher, Ms. Stuart, along with our RMS band, RMS cheer, and student volunteers through the RMS WEB program. A lot of hard work and extra hours went into making this an event to remember and we appreciate all of the behind the scenes effort it took to pull this off.
Welcome to Ridgeview-- we are so happy to have our incoming 6th graders join us as the newest members of the Panther Family!
